Martin Coyne

Corporate recovery and business advisor Quantuma has recruited one of the Midlands best known insolvency experts to spearhead its drive into the West Midlands.

Martin Coyne, former senior partner of Poppleton & Appleby, has joined the firm as a consultant.

His appointment comes just two months after Quantuma expanded into the north west, bringing in Mike Wright as a partner in its new Manchester office.

The firm is growing nationally both geographically and through expansion of its service lines.

Quantuma managing partner Carl Jackson said that establishing a Midlands presence was the next step in Quantuma building its national footprint.

“Martin is a key recruit for us with long established contacts and a reputation that is Midlands-wide,” he said.

“We are delighted that Martin is joining as we continue to grow both our service portfolio our national office network in tandem.”

Mr Coyne’s career in accountancy and as a licensed insolvency practitioner began in 1976 at Dafferns in Coventry. He honed his skills at KPMG for 11 years before joining Poppleton & Appleby where he rose to senior partner before stepping down in April this year.

The expansion into Birmingham now brings the firm’s national network to eight offices, including London, Southampton, Marlow, Watford, Brighton, Bristol and Manchester.

Quantuma announced turnover up by 21% in the year to March 31, 2017.

The firm’s headcount now stands at 97, up from 72 at the same time last year.
