Shopping centre fully let after hat-trick of lease deals

Scott Arms Shopping Centre

LCP has secured a new tenant for its Scott Arms Shopping Centre in Great Barr following a £200,000 refurbishment.

Dominos Pizza has opened a new takeaway at the centre – one of three new stores opening there.

Kingswinford-based LCP, which owns and manages the shopping centre, has spent £200,000 reconfiguring three units to accommodate the new stores after Dominos agreed a 20-year lease for a 2,066 sq ft unit, which will also have seating for customers.

Funeral director Dignity has signed a 10-year lease for a 1,400 sq ft unit, while Card Factory is trading after signing a five-year lease for a 1,684 sq ft unit.

With the arrival of the new tenants, the centre is now fully let.

Jo Salmon, LCP’s retail portfolio manager, said: “We are very pleased that our improvements, which include introducing free 90-minute parking, has attracted these strong brands.

“Footfall has increased since the free parking was brought in, and this has not only boosted the local economy but it has also enabled us to attract these three nationally known names. Having a full complement of tenants also demonstrates that this is an important retail centre for the people of Great Barr.”

Other improvements at the shopping centre include a car park extension, upgraded landscaping and common parts. New signage is also to be installed.

Other tenants at the centre include Iceland, Greggs, Well Pharmacy and Ladbrokes.
