Deal agreed for housing scheme at historic greyhound stadium
WM Housing has agreed a deal which will see it deliver 100 homes at the site of the former Hall Green greyhound stadium.
The 210-home redevelopment of the iconic stadium, which hosted racing for a century, was granted planning permission by Birmingham City Council in September and WM Housing has agreed a deal with developer Galliford Try Partnerships to deliver half of the new homes at the site.
Under the agreement partnerships will provide 110 homes which will be sold by its housebuilding business Linden Homes. The remaining homes will be built for WM Housing, all of them affordable, and these will be offered at affordable and social rents as well as shared ownership.
The homes built by WM Housing will cost £11.5m and will be a mix of two-bedroom flats and two and three-bedroom houses.
The majority of the new homes, 80, will be offered at social and affordable rents with a further 20 offered for shared ownership via Signature New Homes.
Galliford Try Partnerships acquired the former greyhound stadium site in April.
