Birmingham civil and structural engineering consultancy CWA has been appointed to deliver a £30m scheme to build a 10-storey apartment block in the heart of the city.

The Great Charles Street-based consultancy has secured the contract to carry out civil and structural engineering work on the 225-apartment scheme in William Street.

The project is being led by Birmingham-based developer Court Collaboration in partnership with Top Capital Group.

The block is being built on the site of a former data service centre. As well as 225 residential units it will include communal areas in a central courtyard and parking.

CWA director Steve Wedge said: “This development, as well as being in keeping with the existing skyline and creating an attractive street-scape, will result in valuable and much needed new housing stock in an area which is in high demand.”
