Aston Martin pledges no backdated Brexit price hikes

Aston Martin has pledged not to hit customers with backdated price hikes on its supercars ahead of Brexit.

Providing orders on its core cars are received before Brexit is scheduled on March 29, the Gaydon-based sports-car giant maker will honour current prices globally, it told MailOnline/ ThisisMoney.

The guarantee will hold across the world for the current core Aston Martin models: Vantage from £120,900, DB11 from £147,900, and DBS Superleggera from £225,000 and Rapide AMR from £194,950.

It comes in the wake of German rival Porsche announcing in contracts to customers who have already ordered that they face paying 10% more for their cars if there’s a ‘hard’ Brexit.

Aston Martin Lagonda president and group chief executive officer Dr Andy Palmer told MailOnline/ ThisisMoney: “We want to assure our customers across the world that our pricing will be honoured on every Vantage, DB11, DBS Superleggera and Rapide AMR ordered before 29th March 2019.”

“We will not impose a backdated Brexit surcharge on orders for our core range made before March 29. That pledge holds globally.

“Unlike some of our rivals we will not impose a surcharge of up to ten per cent if tariffs are imposed as a result of a ‘No Deal’.

“We will absorb those costs on orders made up to the deadline. We are doing it globally.”
