People: Partner promotions at Pinsent Masons, Marks & Clerk and RSM; Trebor develops its senior team

Pinsent Masons has announced the promotion of 15 new partners, including three in Birmingham.

The partner promotions in Birmingham are Laura Ayre (Energy),  Victoria Baker (Financial Services) and Tom Eastwood (Real Estate).

Also in Birmingham, it was announced that Owen Humphries (Real Estate) and Satwinder Ubhi (Real Estate) have been promoted to the position of legal director.

Intellectual property firm Marks & Clerk has boosted its trade mark practice in Birmingham with the appointment of a new partner, Gareth Jenkins.

Jenkins joins the firm from trade mark firm Wynne-Jones IP and brings experience of working with clients in the fashion, automotive, sport, electronics, engineering and food and drink sectors.

His appointment follows the recent hire of Claire Keating, a trade mark associate.

Alongside expansion in Birmingham Marks & Clerk also recently grew its international presence with the opening of a new base in Toronto. The firm now has 17 offices in the UK and globally covering the EU, Asia and Canada.

Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has promoted Darren Mee to partner in its Birmingham office.

Mee’s promotion is one of nine partner promotions across the country designed to support the firm’s future growth.

Mee, who becomes a partner in the firm’s consulting faculty, started his career in a global role at GSK. In 2006, he joined RSM’s predecessor firm Baker Tilly in the firm’s management consultancy practice before setting up his own boutique firm in 2014.

Having returned to RSM, he has led the management consultancy team within the firm’s Technology and Management Consultancy since October 2017.

Mark Taylor, RSM’s central region managing partner said: “Darren already has a strong track record in providing high quality advice to his clients to help them improve their processes and achieve their strategic goals. I’m absolutely delighted that he has secured his promotion to partner which is testament to his talent and hard work.

Trebor Developments has recruited Glen Cooke in the senior role of project management director.

Cooke will be heading up the design and implementation of major Trebor schemes across the UK.

He joins Birmingham-based Trebor from Projex Building Solutions where he was an equity director and has worked in a consultant capacity, on behalf of Trebor Developments, for a number of years.

Bob Tattrie, managing partner for Trebor, said: “We are delighted to welcome Glen to the Trebor team, he will be a key member of the team in continuing to expand our substantial, high quality, industrial development pipeline across the UK, which is likely to exceed in excess of 3 million sq ft in the next 18 months.”
