Consultation on £27m transport plans extended

Perry Barr flyover

Consultation on a £27m scheme to change a key part of the road network in Perry Barr in time for the 2022 Commonwealth Games has been extended.

The project would see the removal of the A34 flyover, the retention of the A34 underpass and the replacement of the A34/A4040 roundabout with a four-arm signal junction.

The consultation was originally due to close on July 19 but will now remain open until Friday, 2 August.

There will also be an additional public drop-in session for people to view plans and speak to the project team, taking place at the Doug Ellis Sports Centre, in Wellhead Lane, Perry Barr, on Tuesday, 16 July, from 3pm to 7pm.

Printed plans can be viewed and and paper questionnaires picked up at the following libraries: The Library of Birmingham, Aston Library, Birchfield Library and Hamstead Library (Sandwell).

Perry Barr is at the heart of the Commonwealth Games investment and will undergo significant change in the lead-up to 2022 and as part of the Games’ legacy. Further consultations on investment plans at Ale
