Waldrons’ new arrival will head up international team

LAW firm Waldrons is expanding its specialist legal offering with the launch of its new international services department at its offices in the West Midlands and Worcestershire.

The expansion sees the arrival of Steven Grosvenor as head of Waldrons new International Services Department.

The department specialises in UK immigration law, advising both individual and business clients on the complex rules governing immigration in the UK and emigration from the UK.

It will assist businesses with inter-country people movement and transference of skills, employment law, compliance and licensing enabling the employment of non-UK nationals.

Grosvenor has eight years’ experience advising SMEs, multinational companies and individuals on UK immigration law.

Based primarily at the firm’s head office in Merry Hill, Steven will also operate from Waldrons’ offices in Walsall, Dudley, Tipton, Kingswinford and Worcester.

Award-winning lawyer recruited by Higgs & Sons

BLACK Country law firm Higgs & Sons has welcomed lawyer Simon Bond to its expanding employment team.

Bond is the Birmingham Law Society’s pro bono lawyer of the year for 2012 thanks to his work for Birmingham Citizens Advice Bureau where he is a trustee.

He joins Higgs after spending six years with Challinors.

He said: “I am hoping to help build Higgs’ excellent reputation for the delivery of legal services and to enhance and develop the reputation of its employment team.”

Brierley Hill-based Higgs’ employment team has seen 40% growth in the last two years, with the team now the largest in the Black Country.
 

Lodders promotes rising stars

STRATFORD-upon-Avon based Lodders Solicitors has promoted three solicitors to associate status.

Kim Klahn, Emma Vaqueiro and Laura Eaves each began as trainees.

Senior partner David Lodder said: “All are talented members of the team and have made a substantial contribution to our success.

“They very much deserve this step up and I am sure will continue to represent a significant asset. Our staff are very important to us and we have a good record of retaining our trainees. We always encourage them to develop their expertise, grow their profile, grasp opportunities and take on greater responsibility.”

Klahn became a fully qualified solicitor in 2009, at which time she joined the firm’s bvusiness group department.

Vaqueiro has worked for Lodders since she joined the firm in 1997 and is now part of the private client arm.

Eaves also works on the private client side, being a member of the Stratford-upon-Avon litigation team.
