Pinsent Masons strengthens property team in response to demand

LAW firm Pinsent Masons has strengthened its property team in Birmingham with two new appointments.

The firm said it was making the appointments in response to growing demand from the residential development and energy sectors.

Victoria Potterill-Tilney joins the firm as a senior associate in the development team.  She is experienced in advising a number of national house builders on a wide range of development projects, from the pre-planning stage through to the construction of plots.

These include helping clients to secure, promote and develop long term strategic sites by way of option, promotion and collaboration agreements, advising on site acquisitions and disposals, as well as the disposal of affordable housing to registered providers.  She joins Pinsent Masons from Hill Hofstetter, prior to which she was at Wragge and Co.

Satwinder Ubhi has joined from Wragge & Co, where he worked extensively in the energy sector. His experience includes advising on the acquisition and development of sites for use as nuclear power plants, combined heat and power plants and windfarm developments.

Tom Johnson, partner and head of the Birmingham Property team at Pinsent Masons, said: “Both Victoria and Satwinder will bring a wealth of experience and enhanced capabilities to an already successful team.

“Our strategy for some time now has been to focus on a handful of dynamic markets which present long term growth potential, notwithstanding the challenging economic climate, and the residential development/house builder and energy sectors are particular areas of focus and investment for us.”
