Begbies Traynor lures new partner to Birmingham

BEGBIES Traynor has appointed a fourth partner to its Birmingham office. Steve Wood is a specialist in helping distressed businesses get back on track to full recovery.

He joins Begbies Traynor after spending much of his working life in Birmingham, most recently as head of restructuring at Mazars in the city centre.

Wood, who trained as a chartered accountant in Birmingham, is an expert in restoring the health of businesses facing difficulties.

Shakespear on bard at Baldwins

Martyn Shakespear, director of business development and client services, Baldwins accountantsBALDWINS accountants has appointed a new director of business development and client services to serve its network of 10 offices.

Martyn Shakespear, left, brings with him a wealth of experience having spent the last 31 years in the banking industry predominantly in the Midlands.

The 49-year-old has joined Baldwins from The Co-operative Bank where he was regional corporate business development manager for the Midlands, South West, South Wales and Yorkshire.

Previously he was the regional director in the north for the Bank of Ireland and prior to that spent 20 years with NatWest in a number of senior roles across the Midlands.

BHSF strengthens management team with new appointments

BIRMINGHAM-based health insurer BHSF has promoted two key personnel to its senior management team.

Shelley Rowley, Head of Marketing, BHSFShelley Rowley, left, is appointed as Head of Marketing having been with BHSF for almost two years. Prior to joining BHSF she held a number of high profile marketing and business development positions, as well as running her own marketing consultancy. She also has a BSc (Hons) and a masters degree from Loughborough University.

Mike Tresham is appointed as Head of Operations having joined BHSF on the graduate programme in November 2003. He has worked his way through the business and in 2012 was named Health Cash Plan Fraud Investigator of the Year.

Tresham, right, was recently awarded ‘Future Face of Business’ at the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Business awards.  He is a Chartered Manager and has a BSc (Hons) degree from the University of Birmingham Business School.Mike Tresham, Head of Operations, BHSF

David Nuttall, HR & Operations Director, said: “BHSF has a culture of developing its internal resources and the appointment of Shelley and Mike are testament to our management development initiatives.”
