Saveker’s FIB launches ‘speed dating’ events for family businesses

BIRMINGHAM-based former manufacturer Dani Saveker is introducing family businesses to advisers at a number of ‘speed-dating’ events.

Saveker, who formerly ran her family’s Perry Barr-based manufacturing business Saveker’s, now runs the Families in Business (FIB) organisation.

FIB has now launched a series of Ask the Adviser events aimed at family businesses.

Saveker said: “I know from personal experience that time, and access to great advisers, can be very difficult for busy and hard working family businesses.

“I decided to launch a national series of events to tackle this and allow family businesses to come together, meet each other and share their stories as well as build a supportive community and access a range of trusted advisers.

“By being able to get questions answered on a range of topics all in one morning allows businesses to make full use of their precious time.

The first of these events is due to take place on the morning of September 20 at the family-owned New Hall Hotel in Sutton Coldfield. Following that, Ask the Adviser events will be rolled out to other areas of the UK.

During the events family business members will spend a morning having allocated short appointments with an array of advisers and service providers of their choice.

FIB champion Trevor Herbert of Hobbs House Bakery will be guest speaker at the Sutton Coldfield event.

Herbert is not only a fourth generation MD in a family business but he is also father to Henry and Tom, who have their own successful TV show ‘The Fabulous Baker Brothers.’
