Press manufacturer Bruderer targets sales of £4m

PRESS manufacturer Bruderer UK is charting growth after unveiling its latest machine at a major trade show.

The company, which employs 12 at sites in Birmingham and Luton, is targeting customers in the automotive, electronics and renewables sectors after showing off its new BSTA 280-75B2 stamping press at the MACH 2014 event, held at the NEC.

The company is targeting sales of £4m for the first time in its 43 year-history.

It is aiming to impress customers with the innovative nature of the machine, which enables two operations to be combined into one as engineers are able to undertake press tool development and high-speed production on the same machine.

This improves flexibility without reducing capacity and is considered an ideal machine for firms supplying precision components to demanding sectors, including automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, power generation and renewables.

At the completion of the MACH event, the machine was packed up and delivered to its new owner, Harwin in Portsmouth. The deal is estimated to be worth £500,000.

Andreas Fischer, CEO of Bruderer, said: “This is such a major show for us and brings together some of the biggest machinery manufacturers across the globe.

“To be able to showcase a world first and gain such fantastic exposure can only be good for the business and I know we’ve taken 20 leads already, some from overseas, including Russia and India.”

Fischer flew in especially to the NEC from Germany to present Harwin chairman Damon de Laszlo with the machine.

Bruderer UK has been working closely with Harwin’s manufacturing team for many months to bring the innovative solution to market.

The deal could prove to be the catalyst for a record year for the stamping technology specialist, with the focus on taking annual sales from £3m to £4m by the end of 2014.
