Website hosting firm Planet Hippo expands with new acquisition
SHROPSHIRE-based website hosting and domain registration firm, Planet Hippo Internet, has expanded its operations with a new acquisition.
Planet Hippo, based in Oswestry, has acquired i4 Visual Media’s hosted services business in an undisclosed deal.
Essex-based i4 is a leading provider of web design services and will immediately migrate all domains over to Planet Hippo’s servers.
Darren Lavender, managing director of Planet Hippo, said: “This is the latest in a series of strategic acquisitions that will enable Planet Hippo to further expand its reach across the UK. We are making further significant investments in new datacentres to ensure that we maintain our position at the front-line of the developing Cloud-based hosting market and expect to make further acquisitions over the coming months.”

Lavender said the market was increasingly seeing digital agencies outsourcing their web hosting divisions to firms such as Planet Hippo, which is part of The Network Selector Group.
“We will continue to invest in infrastructure and the delivery of unrivalled levels of customer support, freeing up these organisations to invest in growing the core areas of their own businesses,” he added.
