Bosch subsidiary is latest recruit to Manufacturing Technology Centre

DRIVES and controls manufacturer, Bosch Rexroth, has become the latest globally-recognised company to join Coventry’s Manufacturing Technology Centre.

Bosch Rexroth, based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire is part of the Bosch Group. It will add its expertise to several of the MTC’s ongoing projects, and will also work with existing members.

Bosch Rexroth is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of drive and controls across a wide range of applications including mobile applications, factory automation, machinery and renewable energies.

MTC chief executive Dr Clive Hickman said his relationship with Bosch goes back nearly 40 years to when he was a junior engineer.

“I am delighted that a company with such a strong reputation for quality and professionalism has become the latest to join the family of members who support our work,” he said.

“Our aim is to provide a competitive environment to bridge the gap between university-based research and the development of innovative manufacturing solutions, in line with the Government’s manufacturing strategy.

“We look forward to Bosch Rexroth becoming involved in many of our projects and forming a close working partnership with the company.”

The growth of the MTC has so far exceeded expectations, achieving many of its targets five years ahead of schedule.  The MTC is part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult which is supported by Innovate UK.
