Grand Central Birmingham sufficiently replete after signing up full quota of restaurants

GRAND Central Birmingham, the retail and dining scheme linked to the redeveloped New Street station in Birmingham, has signed up all of its restaurants ten months ahead of opening.

Some 13 restaurants have signed up at the £150m scheme with a number of them new to the city.

Grand Central Birmingham, which is owned by Birmingham City Council and will sit above the transformed New Street Station, has concluded deals with newcomers Pho, Caffe Concerto, Square Pie and Tapas Revolution.

Stephen Wall from Vietnamese restaurant group Pho said, “We are really looking forward to opening our first Birmingham restaurant in the new Grand Central development. It’s an exciting time for the city and for us as we’re playing a part in this significant transformation.

“Grand Central will be one of the major destinations for shoppers dining in the city centre, and we can’t wait to share with them a taste of the Vietnamese food we love so much.”

Keith Stone, leasing director for Grand Central, said: “We are delighted to see some of the country’s favourite restaurants finally having a footprint in Birmingham thanks to the Grand Central  and New Street Station redevelopments.

“The investment from such well known dining brands further demonstrates why we are so confident of the long-term benefits Grand Central and New St Station will bring to the city.

The launch of Grand Central, whose anchor store will be John Lewis, will coincide with the opening of Birmingham New Street station next September.
