Blues’ parent set to postpone AGM over director payments

BIRMINGHAM City FC’s parent group is set to postpone its annual general meeting so it can agree on payments to its directors.

Birmingham International Holdings had been due to stage the AGM on Tuesday (December 23) but in an announcement to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange it said an extra resolution had been tabled for the meeting that required delaying the meeting.

The new date has been proposed for January 6.

The meeting is set to be a significant one for the future direction of the company as it is likely to see former acting chairman Peter Pannu ousted as CEO and managing director of BIH. If approved at the meeting he will be relegated to the role of executive director.

The move follows his resignation earlier this month from the Championship side’s board of directors – and that of the club’s PLC. The resignations have been accepted by the boards of Birmingham City PLC and Birmingham City Football Club.
