Gateley promote 18 in Birmingham

THE Birmingham office of law firm Gateley has announced 18 promotions including two to partner.

The news follows the company becoming the first UK commercial law firm to list on the London Stock Exchange last month.

Gateley’s promotions span its various areas of specialism. They include six promotions to associate, eight to senior associate, two to legal director and two more to partner.

Retail and corporate occupier specialist James Madill becomes a partner in the real estate team and residential development specialist Ryan Ferguson has also been promoted to partner.

Corporate recovery lawyer Kathryn Hacking and CTM lawyer Kirstin Roberts have both been promoted to the role of legal director.

Gateley chief executive, Michael Ward said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for the company and these promotions are well deserved. Each of these lawyers has played a pivotal role in the success of the firm in recent years and we’re delighted to be able to announce so many promotions this year.

“One of the reasons behind our move to become a public company was to be able to provide a flexible and rewarding career structure for all our people.”

Gateley’s shares started trading on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange on June 8.  The company raised £30m as part of its listing on AIM and was valued at £100m on the first day of dealings.

In total Gateley has announced 42 promotions across its six English offices.
