A BLACK Country family advice service has relocated after enlisting the help of property specialists in Birmingham.

The Sandwell Asian Family Support Service (SAFS) has moved because it needed larger premises. It has relocated to the Windmill Community Centre in Smethwick and was helped with the move by the real estate team at law firm Irwin Mitchell.

The charity has agreed to take a lease on the community centre on Messenger Road from Sandwell Borough Council. SAFS will be moving from its current base in Fenton Street.

SAFS provides a range of quality care and support services for South Asian children, young people and adults who have a disability. It supports the whole family and also provides services for parents, carers and guardians.

SAFS chief executive Parpinder Dhatt, said: “This year is significant for SAFS as it marks our 30th anniversary. Our move to a larger building is also an important milestone particularly as it will provide so many more opportunities for the children and adults with disabilities that we support.”

Guy Whitehead, a real estate Solicitor at Irwin Mitchell, said: “SAFS is a superb charity and an organisation that I was keen to support. This is an important move for them and I wish them all the best in the future.”
