NEC expands event management team as business booms

THE NEC Group has expanded its events management team to cope with an increasing workload.

A new events manager is being supported by two assistant events managers – the latter both newly-created positions.

The trio will provide support to the existing team at the National Exhibition Centre, which is under strain following an increase in events bookings.

Tracey Duffy joins as event manager, with Victoria Gibbon and Tasha Bray recruited as her assistants.

NEC event director Linda Ritchie said: “We are thrilled to welcome Tracey, Victoria and Tasha to the team.

“The new assistant event manager role will not only provide our organisers with more support but will also increase resilience and provide succession planning within the team.”

Before joining the NEC, Ms Duffy spent eight years as the area events manager for Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life. She will now be responsible for the operational planning and delivery of the NEC’s exhibitions and live events.

She said: “I have always had a strong passion for live events so I jumped at the chance to work for the venue. I am looking forward to working closely with organisers to find innovative solutions to their event needs.”

Ms Gibbons, who previously worked as an event manager at the Beaumont Estate, said she was keen to expand her knowledge and learn more about the operational and health and safety elements involved in delivering live events,

“I’ve been attending events at the NEC for years so it’s exciting to now be working behind the scenes,” she said.

Former event coordinator at British Athletics, Ms Bray said: “I am thrilled to have joined the NEC. I aim to make the organiser journey as easy and straightforward as possible.”
