In brief: BJS Distribution; Greswolde Construction; Barratt Homes

BJS Distribution, the specialist two-man delivery service which counts the Cotswold Company and designer furniture brand Made as customers, has expanded to a second site in Wednesbury to support its growth plans.

Established in 2009, and originally based in Walsall, BJS has enjoyed growth throughout the last seven years and in 2013 moved to larger premises in Wednesbury.  However, high volumes and increased demand from clients meant that by last year the business required additional space and the search for a new facility began.

Tony Pearson, sales director at BJS Distribution, said: “Once it became clear that we were rapidly outgrowing our base in Wednesbury, we had a choice between finding a totally new home for the business or expanding in to a second site.

“However, having viewed several options we decided the one that best met our needs was a second facility nearby to our existing base in Wednesbury so we opted to take a unit on the Red Mill Estate.”

Legal advice was provided by Wolverhampton-based Charan Thiara of FBC Manby Bowdler’s Commercial Property team.

A FAST-track £3m Birmingham development looks set to be built in record time by Solihull-based Greswolde Construction.

The company is building a manufacturing facility at Hollymoor Point in Rubery, and challenging construction deadlines meant around four months had to be shaved off the usual timetable for the project.

Greswolde has been appointed by Hortons’ Estate Developments and Trebor Developments.

“This was a tall order but we are very pleased Greswolde has been able to pull out all the stops and help to make this happen,” says Greswolde director Chris Harrison.

“We are delighted to be on site assisting in bringing this important project to fruition for our long-standing client Hortons, who we have worked with successfully in the past on projects with tight deadlines.”

The 55,000 sq ft facility which is part of Aquapak Polymer’s ongoing expansion plans, is on target for a December handover.
