Police and HSE investigations continue into five deaths at recycling plant
AN inquest has opened into the deaths of five men at a recycling plant in Nechells earlier this month.
They were killed in an incident at Hawkeswood Metal when a large wall collapsed on them.
Investigations by West Midlands Police and the Health and Safety Executive are being carried out.
The coroner, Louise Hunt, has adjourned the inquest while those investigations continue.
The five men were named as Ousmane Kaba Diaby, 39; Bangally Tunkara Dukaray, 55; Almano Kinteh Jammeh, 45; Mahamadou Jagana Jagana, 49; and Saib Sumbundu Sillah, 42.
A sixth man broke his leg in the incident on July 7.
