Shropshire law firm nears £10m turnover

ONE of Shropshire’s largest law firms has grown its turnover to a record high during a “period of significant growth”.
Lanyon Bowdler increased turnover by 5%, to £9.2m, in the year to April as it continues to build on its Top 200 status.
In May 2016 the firm merged with Beaumonts Solicitors in Hereford, and now has seven offices in Shropshire and Herefordshire.
Brian Evans, who rose from being a trainee with the firm to become managing partner in May, said: “These latest financial figures are excellent, and from a personal point of view I am excited about having become managing partner at a time of significant growth for the firm.
“It really is a tale of success across all of our departments and the firm as a whole is feeling very positive.
“What has been particularly heartening over the past year is how much work we are seeing from the local area which might otherwise have gone to bigger firms in Birmingham or other cities.”
