Distribution hub to create 1,650 jobs after "Amazon" plans approved

AMAZON looks set to create 1,650 jobs in Coventry after the City Council approved a distribution warehouse on the former Jaguar site at Browns Lane.
The application for the development at the Lyons Park site was made by Goodman Real Estate but is widely understood to be on behalf of the online retailer.
The plans are for a 430,000 sq ft warehouse that is 15 metres high. It will have 127 HGV spaces and parking for 700 cars.
More than 100 letters of objection had been received, and concerns raised included the impact on residents and roads, as well as on the visual impact of the development.
Councillors on the planning committee supported the application by six votes to three.
