Crucial warehousing scheme gets the green light from planners

DEVELOPERS have secured planning permission for two new industrial units in Staffordshire.

Trebor Developments and Seddon Developments’ joint venture is based on a site off Junction 14 of the M6, north of Stafford.

The scheme, Prime Point 14, will see the delivery of two large units, respectively 66,000 and 78,000 sq ft, capable of production (B2) or distribution use (B8).

Work will start on site next spring, with a view to the units being occupied by the end of next year.  The speculative development is being undertaken to deliver much needed quality industrial accommodation in the Staffordshire area.

The consent was granted on the same day as Trebor’s adjacent speculative industrial development – Triton at Redhill Business Park – achieved practical completion.

Triton provides 115,000 sq ft of much-needed commercial space and the partners said they had already received strong interest in the warehouse.

Bob Tattrie, managing partner of Trebor Developments, said: “The granting of planning is the next milestone to us developing this key site, located a short distance from Junction 14 of the M6.  The size of units proposed meets a gap in the Midlands/Staffordshire market for quality industrial accommodation of this type.  It is now full steam ahead to deliver in 2017.”

The development partners have appointed BNP Paribas and Savills as joint marketing agents.
