Yorkshire Business Masters 2011: Yorkshire Innovator

YORKSHIRE’S most innovative individuals and the companies behind many inspirational products have kept the region’s economy stay ahead of the competition over the past 12 months.

The Yorkshire Innovator award at TheBusinessDesk.com’s 2011 Yorkshire Business Masters will celebrate the most creative or original business thinking across the region.

The category, won last year by Graham Bowland of surgical device manufacturer Surgical Innovations, is once again being sponsored by law firm Walker Morris.

Debbie Jackson, corporate partner at Walker Morris said: “TheBusinessDesk.com is all about breaking the mould and being fresh and innovative, which is precisely why their ethos resonates with Walker Morris so well. We pride ourselves on doing things differently and encouraging our staff to think creatively.

“That ethos is carried through to TheBusinessDesk.com’s Business Masters Awards, which recognises achievement in a way that is very different to the standard award categories.

“So when it came to choosing an award category for us to sponsor, there could only be one choice for Walker Morris – Yorkshire Innovator, which recognises the most creative or original business thinking.

“Yorkshire Innovator perfectly summarises our belief in the importance of creative thinking in business. We encourage creative thinking in all aspects of our firm’s and our employees’ lives.

“It’s visible at every level, from our ‘unique’ business model to our 20 year history of innovative arts sponsorship, through to the innovative culture of the firm offering creative solutions to our clients.

“We believe there are plenty of examples of original business thinking in Yorkshire and it’s something we are proud to help recognise, reward and encourage.”

The Yorkshire Business Masters 2011 takes place on June 16 at Aspire, in Leeds.

Starting at noon, the event begins with a champagne reception, followed by a three course lunch accompanied by fine wine.
