Leeds construction company grows revenues to £80m

Leeds-based building group GMI Construction, the company, has reached nearly £80m in revenues.

The group,  which is behind a multitude of regional developments including the Merrion Hotel revamp and the Premier Inn on Whitehall Road, turned over £79.5m last year.

This was an increase of 41% for the year to September 2016, from £56.2m the year before.

Pre-tax profits rose to £2.0m from £1.5m.

The company is prolific in the region, having done work everywhere from Leeds United’s Elland Road grounds, to the Premier Inn on Whitehall Road, Thorpe Park and the Merrion Centre.

The company employs 72 people from management to site operatives and £1.17m in dividends was paid out during the year.
