£2m ultra-fast internet scheme open to West Yorkshire SMEs

A £2m Gigabit Voucher Scheme is being launched to help businesses to invest in their digital infrastructure.

Yorkshire is one of six locations chosen to pilot the scheme which offers SMEs in Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, Wakefield and York Council areas vouchers worth up to £3,000 towards the cost of ultra-fast internet connectivity.

The funding is being allocated on a first come, first served basis and companies should apply now, says business communications specialist NGC Networks – a registered supplier of the scheme.

NGC Networks is the partner of CityFibre in the recent introduction of a full-fibre network in Wakefield. NGC is also partnering with CityFibre to deliver gigabit speeds to businesses in Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, York and Hull.

Businesses connecting to the gigabit city networks are benefiting from increased productivity enabled by faster speeds, greater bandwidth and more efficient business processes.

NGC Networks director Nikki Guest said: “The Gigabit Voucher Scheme is a great opportunity for SMEs to vastly improve their digital capabilities and revolutionise the way they do business. As a registered supplier, we can support businesses to apply for the vouchers and the benefits of ultra-fast internet connectivity.”
