Subtitling specialist’s earnings to beat expectations after strong year

ZOO Digital, the Sheffield-based subtitling specialist,  said its annual earnings will be ahead of market expectations, as revenue jumped 70% after a strong year.

The firm, which provides foreign language sub-titling, captioning and dubbing in all languages and distribution formats across the world, said growth experienced in the business continued through the second half of the financial year.

The company expects to post revenue for the year to the end of March of $28m, up from $16.5m in the previous year.

Adjusted Ebitda for the full year is expected to be at least $2.3m, up from $1.8m.

The company said: “The demand for localisation services continues to grow and, in order to satisfy this demand, ZOO has been steadily increasing the number of quality voice actors and dubbing professionals with whom it engages. Pleasingly, the group’s growing reputation in the market is helping to engage with these professionals, enabling services to be fulfilled across a growing number of languages.”

Chief executive Stuart Green said: “We are pleased to confirm guidance for the full year results. We continue to see momentum in the business, driven by our localisation services, and remain optimistic for the future.”

ZOO, which will publish its full results in July, also said the hunt for a new chief finance officer is ongoing.
