Specialist services provider PTSG, which has a market capitalisation of £180m, has continued its acquisitive streak from 2017 with the announcement of its latest deal.

The group has swooped for Kent-based M&P Fire Protection, specialists in the installation, maintenance and testing of dry and wet riser systems and commercial and domestic sprinkler systems, for £3.5m.

Paul Teasdale, CEO of Castleford-based PTSG, said: “We are delighted to welcome M&P Fire Protection to the group. This acquisition extends the service offering of our fire solutions division and complements our wider provision as the UK’s largest niche specialist service provider.

“We are fully committed to the continuation of our successful strategy of achieving market leadership across the sectors in which we operate, and this acquisition strengthens our geographical coverage within the fire protection sector, particularly in London and the South East.”

The business will retain its management team which will continue to grow and expand the business. Mike Thackery and Paul Atkins will continue to lead the M&P team.

In 2017, PTSG completed three acquisitions for more than £17m.

These included Nimbus, a lighting specialist that the firm bought in a £1m deal, Manchester lightning specialist Brooke Edgeley for £14m, while it paid £2.5m for UK Sprinklers.
