A1 northbound closed

The A1 in West Yorkshire is closed northbound between the A1(M) J38 near Doncaster and the A639 due to a two lorry collision.

West Yorkshire Police are on scene with Ambulance Services and Highways England Traffic Officers, as both lorries have suffered substantial damage.

Traffic is being diverted and should follow the hollow diamond symbol. Exit the A1 at J38 and turn left onto the A638 travelling northbound for approx 4 miles. At the roundabout for Dale Lane/ Wrangbrook Lane take the 3rd exit onto Wrangbrook Lane travelling east to re-join the A1 at the A639 junction.

Motorists have been asked to allow additional travelling time if heading towards the area.
