Expanding accountancy firm acquires first permanent premises

Accountancy firm Business Works UK has acquired its first permanent premises in Garforth after securing a £162,500 funding package from NatWest.

Previously located on Aberford Road, the company has used the funding to purchase the new office space on Main Street.

Over the last six years, the team has increased from five to 11, outgrowing its current rented office space.

The Main Street offices will accommodate the existing team and allow for further growth, with room for additional desks, meeting and training rooms.

Founded in 2008 by managing director Jo Tomlinson, Business Works UK is an accountancy firm specialising in helping small and medium-sized enterprises.

Tomlinson said: “Over the last 10 years, the business has grown considerably. We’ve doubled the size of the team and now represent around 150 businesses both locally and across the UK.

“Thanks to the funding from NatWest, we have been able to purchase our own premises to accommodate future growth, while remaining in Garforth where we love the sense of community.”

Lorna Blackett, NatWest business growth enabler and Matthew Fenby, NatWest relationship manager worked together on the deal.

Fenby said: “We have known Jo for a number of years and her passion for her business is evident in its continued success and growth. The new office space will allow her to expand and recruit additional staff in future and we look forward to seeing the business thrive over the coming years.”
