Media Buzz: Bloom, Independent Leeds, Fox Communications, Little Door Creative

BLOOM has made two senior appointments with Christian McAvoy and Philip Bennison joining the digital agency.

Mr McAvoy has joined Leeds-based Bloom as head of project management from Sky Sports Digital while Mr Bennison has come from Clownfish as head of development.

The agency has also added seven new team members boosting account management, development and search.

New team members also include: Alex Fisher, search and social executive; Jennifer Evans, senior account manager; Sarah Hackett, project executive; Sam Jenkins, developer; Fay Nyberg, copywriter; Amy Tootell, account manager; Harshad Patel, UI developer; and Kelly Scholey, junior interface developer.

A COLLABORATION between the Leeds Retail Association (LRA), Hebe Media, SLB Public Relations and Leeds College of Art has seen the launch of Independent Leeds.

The partnership has seen a brand and website dedicated to showcasing the city’s hidden gems created within the following categories: fashion, hair and beauty, food and drink, entertainment, and music and events.

David Laycock, chairman of the LRA, said: “We have created Independent Leeds to build on and celebrate Leeds already strong reputatiion for independent buinesses. This best city initiative was conceived, and is driven by, the true spirit of partnership with a dedicated focus on working closely with the indepedent busimesses to give them a cool Leeds site that reflects their character, creativity and diffference.  

“I am very proud to be part of this partnership that profiles the independent sector and sets our City apart from others, a real jewel in the Leeds crown.”

MARKETING agency Fox Communications has been appointed to create an online home for the Virgin Media graduate recruitment programme.

Fox Communications has been tasked with creating a concept and building a website to promote Virgin Media’s 2013 graduate recruitment scheme.

The campaign is linked to the sponsorship of hit ITV talent show Britain’s Got Talent.

Nelson McConnell, director at Fox Communications, said: “The aim of this project is to ensure Virgin Media’s online offering attracts the attention of the very best graduates around. 

“We believe that our experience of delivering engaging sites to a younger audience, whilst remaining brand and objective focused has won us this exciting opportunity.”

Little Door CreativeDESIGN agency Little Door Creative Services has designed and built a website for luxury fabric merchant, Bateman Ogden & Co.

Established in 1881 in Bradford, Bateman Ogden & Co supply luxury fabrics to the international tailoring industry.

Ilkley-based Little Door Creative was briefed to develop a website, the first in Bateman Odgen & Co’s 131 year history, that would showcase its fabric ranges to existing customers and inform potential customers of its expertise.

Bob Collins, Bateman Ogden’s managing director, said: “Our website has provided us with an excellent shop window as our business continues to expand, especially in the Far East. Little Door Creative understood the brief straight away and delivered us an excellent site. We’ve already had fantastic feedback from both customers and agents.”

Little Door Creative Services was established earlier this year by James Fisher, who has spent the last 16 years working for design and advertising agencies in London.
