Harris wins suite of planning consents

COMMERCIAL architects and planners The Harris Group (Harris) has delivered design and planning for a trio of new retail schemes in the region led by Gregory Property Group.

Works started in November on a new Pure Gym with associated units in Bramley, Leeds, while a new Aldi food store and Pure Gym scheme with additional retail unit at Regent Street, received outline planning approval in August.

The former car showroom site which has become something of an eyesore since it was abandoned in 2008 on what is a principle gateway route into the city centre.

Harris is also supporting Leeds-based Gregory Property Group on its proposed 50,000 sq ft retail park on Great Eastern Way, Rotherham, phase one of which also received full planning consent in August and starts on site in November, whilst phase two has outline consent.

Gregory Property Group has already secured three major retail operators for the Great Eastern Way site including Aldi and Iceland.

Further afield, Wakefield-based Harris has just won planning for a 102,730sq ft flagship foodstore designed for Sainsbury’s at the Abbey Retail Park in the London borough of Barking and Dagenham for Land and Estates as well as a new 1,588 sq ft Aldi store with additional retail units at Fakenham in Norfolk.
