Lead runners start their training for 10K Corporate Challenge

THE lead runners in the 2015 Clarion Leeds 10K Corporate Challenge have set off on their training runs in preparation for the July race.

The hotly-contested competition has grown into a key part of the flagship Asda Foundation 10K organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All.

The corporate challenge is open to teams of runners, with the average time of the first three team members home used to calculate the winners.

Wakefield electronic document management company Arena Group is among the first to sign up for a corporate team.

Arena Group’s managing director, Adrian Fitzpatrick, said: “Arena has been a long-time supporter of Mike Tomlinson and the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, sponsoring the Mini and Junior events since their launch in 2010. The 10k is a great complement to this activity and is very popular with Arena employees.”

Hundreds of business people will be swapping suits for tracksuits to take part in this year’s event on July 12, which is sponsored by law firm Clarion.

More than 50 firms and organisations took part in 2014 and the field included all sectors, including accountants, law companies, engineers, hotel staff, removal company employees and media companies.

Bragging rights last year went to law firm Irwin Mitchell who triumphed in a time of 39:22.
