Prominent Nottingham bar closed as owners sell up

A Nottingham bar and restaurant which had been open less than a year has closed.

The Curious Townhouse on High Pavement was owned by Brown and Brown Industries, the company behind the Curious chain of venues in Nottingham has sold the business, according to reports.

A statement from the owners said: “The Townhouse thanks all of its lovely customers for their trade over the last year on what has been an exciting project. The business has now been sold and an exciting new venue will be coming here soon, watch this space.”

When it opened the Curious Townhouse last year, Curious Venues said: “We are proud to be creating unique and unusual establishments within the Nottinghamshire area. We also aim to showcase locally sourced fresh products and jolly good food ideas.

“Our ambition is to be daring and to be that little bit different, occasionally throwing caution to the wind and pushing ourselves to the brink of madness!”

The building had previous been the equally as short lived Loom bar, which closed after its owners ran out of cash.
