New chief operating officer for Leicester law firm

Oliver Brookshaw

Spearing Waite has appointed a chief operating officer as it gears up to implement a new five-year strategy.

Corporate partner, Oliver Brookshaw, will take on the new role working alongside the management team of Tom Bower, Jonathan Wheeler and Martin Smith.

Bower said: “These are exciting times for the firm. We have achieved a great deal in the last 5 years, having more than doubled turnover and completed our move to outstanding new offices on Pocklingtons Walk.

“Our size and ambition means we now need a more focused approach to the management of the firm which Oliver will help us with. He is well qualified for the role having previously run Shoosmiths’ Corporate Practice Group, growing its fee income from £1 million to £10 million. Oliver will continue to work as a Corporate partner alongside his new role.”

Brookshaw said: “Spearing Waite has now put in place an exciting new strategy to continue and accelerate its recent growth. I am looking forward enormously to taking up the new role of Chief Operating Officer and to driving the new strategy forward. We have a hugely talented work force with whom it will be a privilege to work and whose quality gives me enormous confidence that the firm’s ambitious plans can be achieved.”
