On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

(L-R) Jack Brown and Sam Klyman

Accountancy firm UHY Hacker Young has added fresh talent to its Nottingham-based team with the appointment of two new trainees.

School leaver Sam Klyman, 18, and 21-year-old Jack Brown, who has 18 months’ experience, have joined the firm in Nottingham as Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) trainees.

The duo will work to become experts in accountancy cloud-based software Xero, which can be accessed from anywhere at any time on any device with an internet connection.

Liz Searby, partner at UHY, said: “Xero is really going to change the way accounting records are kept. They can be accessed remotely by different people and using different pieces of kit – it’s timesaving, puts a lot of flexibility into the process and creates more efficient working.

“Cloud accounting is really pushing growth in our client support department. We have invested a lot of time and resources into training so we can provide support to our clients, demonstrating our commitment to the area.

“These appointments take our team in client support to seven so it is an area of practice that is expanding, largely thanks to the work we are doing with clients and cloud accounting.”
