Housebuilder set to extend Eastwood scheme

St Modwen Homes has secured planning permission for a further 10 homes and a play area at its development off Newmanleys Road in Eastwood – bringing the total number of houses at the scheme to 50.
The housebuilder will build a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes and maisonettes.
Built on the site of the former Beamlight Automotive Seating factory, which closed in 2012, the brownfield site has undergone remediation works.
Martin Install, regional managing director – North at St Modwen Homes, said: “It’s a great pleasure to announce that we’ll be delivering even more of our thoughtfully designed homes to the people of Eastwood.
“The development, which we’ve named Lawrence Mill in honour of the locally born author of D.H. Lawrence, will offer a quiet place for homebuyers to settle down on the outskirts of the historic town of Eastwood.
“Like all of our developments, we’re committed to building well-designed and spacious streets, with open space and greenery for residents to enjoy.”
