Plot with planning for industrial building snapped up

A building plot in Ilkeston with planning consent for an industrial building has been sold.

The site on Digby Street comprises a vacant plot of approximately 0.20 acres with consent granted to install a light industrial building.

Mark Richardson, partner at BB&J Commercial who sold the development opportunity, said: “The market for industrial stock and development opportunities has been incredibly strong. I had a lot of enquiries about this site, even once a sale was agreed and I could have sold it several times over. I’d encourage anyone with industrial property or land to sell to get in touch, as market demand shows no sign of slowing down.”

In recent months, Richardson said there has been a steady increase in the sales of land and industrial units since more businesses require space to accommodate an increase in online shopping.

Richardson added: “It is encouraging for the economy in general that many businesses are continuing to be buoyant and looking for opportunities for growth. We are optimistic that this will continue, and we have seen several properties come to market recently and sell very quickly.”
