Engineering firm slumps into administration with jobs at risk

A Daventry engineering firm has slipped into administration and is up for sale.

BDL Tool & Die Engineering, which supplies components to the tensioner, motorsport and aerospace industries, called in Begbies Traynor just before Christmas, it has emerged. The administrator is currently trying to sell off the business and its assets.

BDL Tool & Die Engineering’s website is currently down, but it is thought it employed around 80 people.

In its latest accounts made up to the end of July 2020, the firm had creditors totalling almost £2m and had outstanding loans of £1.2m. Assets came to just over £11,000.

BDL Tool & Die Engineering was set up in 2009.
