On the move: the latest East Midlands Hires

Ellen Melhuish and Harriet Howarth have joined Impression's People and Paid Media departments

Nottingham-based digital marketing agency Impression has announced a pair of senior hires.

Harriet Howarth, previously programmatic lead at Dentsu-owned digital marketing agency Merkle, has been appointed to develop and grow Impression’s new Programmatic Advertising offering.

Meanwhile, Ellen Melhuish has joined the agency’s People department as its first ever learning and development specialist. Melhuish previously worked for Frontiers Media, The Prince’s Trust and Oxfam.

Paid media director Mike Wickham said: “Launching our new programmatic service offering is a hugely exciting step for Impression. Evolving our brand capabilities not only helps us to better serve consumers throughout their buyer journey, but it allows us to devise and deliver creative and impactful media strategies to accelerate our clients’ growth.

“We’ve built a team armed with data, creativity, and a high level of critical thinking and we’re incredibly excited for the year ahead.”

Zoë Ogden, people director at Impression, added: “At Impression, we want our people to have all the skills needed to support them in their career growth, which in turn means great things for our clients. We want to be known as an agency that develops our people and trains them to a high standard and Ellen will be instrumental in taking this to the next level, creating a leading agency in-house training programme.

“Impression has a huge focus on its people and one of our goals is to build and retain a high-performing and engaged team. Our focus on people initiatives has seen us listed as a Great Place to Work for two years running, along with winning UK Company Culture Award’s ‘Best Agency to Work For’ in 2022.”

Grantham-based waste management and recycling business Axil Integrated Services has appointed a new head of sustainability and zero-waste.

Gina Rudkin will be responsible for leading the company’s efforts to reduce its own environmental impact and drive sustainability initiatives across its operations, as well as supporting Axil’s clients with their initiatives.

Rudkin brings a wealth of experience to the role having spent the past 25 years working in the waste management industry.
