New ‘Cones’ book launched with focus on HS2

The 17th book in the Cones Chidlren’s Educational Series Book series has been launched at an event in Chipping Warden in Northamptonshire.
The book, called ‘Cones and High Speed Rail’, was written by Chris Madeley. Some 10,000 books have been ordered for schools and organisations.
Children from Chipping Warden School were in attendance and were treated to an exclusive reading from Chris, as well as a “Site Safari” where they could follow in the adventures of the Cones and see many of the themes featured in the books.
A spokesperson for the publisher said: “We were delighted to have launched ‘Cones and High Speed Rail’ at our Eiffage Kier Ferrovial BAM Chipping Warden Green Tunnel site Keith Madeley MBE, the book’s author Chris Madeley, and the fantastic children from Chipping Warden Primary School.
“This book was two years in the making and so pleased to be able to share the important themes of safety, wellbeing, environment and belonging in the construction industry. Massive thanks to Hannah Victoria Jones, Heather King, Haidee Williams and Dewet Du Plessis for their work on the book and the launch, what a great job they did.
Keith said the team was now focusing on planning to get the books out to schools and other venues, with a number of exciting activities planned for September and beyond.
