Seven up for Nottingham expansion

The owner of Derby’s Seven Bar and Restaurant has exclusively told TheBusinessDesk.com that she is looking to expand the brand in to Nottingham.
Helen Salloway, who opened Seven on Derby’s Pride Park two and a half years ago, says she wants to open the new bar and restaurant in the West Bridgford suburb of Nottingham, and is actively looking for sites.
“I’d always said I’d like to have more than one place,” she said. “We’ve been looking at West Bridgford for our next opening, but every site we’ve seen hasn’t been quite right as yet.
“I’m very conscious that I don’t want to spread ourselves too thinly or lose any of the quality that we’ve become renowned for here in Derby. We attract quality customers, and we want to give them quality back.
“We don’t want to run before we can walk, however; I’d like to be in a position where we have three places in five years. We’re also considering Birmingham – I think the Brindley Place area is excellent.”
Seven has turned into a family concern, with Salloway’s son Campbell joining the team, whilst she has a Gordon Ramsey-trained chef in the kitchen.
She added: “Seven in Derby has become a place for people to meet as well as have a meal and a drink. There’s always a buzz about the restaurant and bar, and that’s what we want to replicate.”
Seven Bar and Restaurant in Derby employs 37 people.
