Voyage of ghostly discovery for Repton fundraiser

Dr Howard G Awbery

Ghost hunters can learn about Repton’s most ghostly fables and explore some of the town’s most haunted buildings and landmarks at a fundraising, light-hearted Ghost Walk led by local businessman Dr Howard G Awbery.

The Ghost Walk will be an introduction to the sad, bad and good ghosts of Repton and the surrounding areas, and starts at 7.30pm on Friday 2nd December in the centre of the town.

All proceeds from the tickets for the event will be donated to the Repton Village Hall Company Appeal, which is now well on the way to reaching its fundraising target.

Those with an interest in ghosts will be taken on an entertaining, informative tour of Repton’s ghostly landmarks, including places of rumoured, recent, ghostly siting’s.

Howard G Awbery, Managing Director of Repton-based leadership, HR and coaching company Awbery, is a regular ghost walk guide in the village, and has researched its haunted happenings over several years with the help of local residents.

“This isn’t an historic walk,” explains Howard, “the walk is intended to be informative but above all fun, with our route taking in some of Repton’s infamous as well as lesser-known ghostly locations. And we may well meet the odd ghost along the way too.”

Repton is, in fact, considered to have more than its fair share of ghosts, with several alledged siting’s of various ghostly figures around Repton School, and the ghost of a man who came to a murderous, untimely end back in the 18th century.

“This will be my final, Repton Ghost Walk,” adds Howard, “and I hope it will raise a few more hundred pounds to support the Repton Village Hall fundraising charity.”
