New Mansfield shop is all about family

Mum and daughter team Anne and Rebecca Wass have realised a dream in opening a new children’s boutique in Mansfield.

Jak & Daisy has opened in Regent Street, selling a hand-picked selection of clothing brands for young children, up to the age of six, and also toys and gifts.

Rebecca says that the new shop is a dream come true for her and her mum, who used to work together in a Mansfield jewellery shop.

She said: “It is something that my dad, Chris, wanted us to do together as he thought we would do well. Sadly, he passed away in September but we have now opened the shop and so far so good.

“In fact, we have been overwhelmed by the support of people in Mansfield who have come in and had a look at what we offer.”

Rebecca added: “We have items to suit all budgets and some really nice brands. We don’t think there is anything like it nearby and so we are determined that we will be a success.”

Anne added: “Both Rebecca and I share an aim to bring together a variety of unique brands, and styles, to create a one-stop-boutique for little ones – although there are some lovely items for new mums too.”

Sarah Nelson, the manager of the Mansfield BID (Business Improvement District) welcomed the new independent shop to the town centre.

She said: “Rebecca and Anne are already proving to be a team dedicated to offering something different, something new to shoppers in Mansfield town centre. The BID wishes them well in their new venture.”
