Nottingham restaurant steps into the limelight once again

LIME Restaurant, based in Nuthall Nottingham is celebrating what the owner is calling “its best year yet” after being named one of the Midland’s best restaurants.

The 12th annual British Curry Awards, which took place in London last month, saw the Indian restaurant shortlisted for one of 13 awards, best restaurant in the Midlands.

Nominations were submitted by members of the public for the event, followed by a rigorous judging process. Lime was one of only two Indian restaurants in Nottingham to earn a place as a finalist.

The event was hosted by comedian Alistair McGowan, celebrity guests included chef Heston Blumenthal, actors and TV personalities Colin Salmon, Adil Ray and Saira Khan, MPs Chris Grayling, Ann Main and Paul Scully, and Sarah Ferguson.

Owner Shahid Rana said: “To be recognised further afield and to be shortlisted as one the best in the Midlands is fantastic – these awards are known in the industry as the Curry Oscars!

“This latest recognition makes it a hat trick for Lime this year as we were also recommended in the 2017 Michelin Guide for the 4th year running.”

Earlier this year, Lime was crowned best restaurant in the East Midlands at the English Curry Awards 2016.

“This is our best year yet” he added.
