Profits rise at Derby data centre giant

Derby-based cloud, IT and managed services firm Node 4 has seen profits rise slightly for the year to 31 March 2016.

The firm made a profit after tax of just over £4.2m over the period – up from £4.05m in 2015.

Turnover rose from £22.77m to nearly £26m over the period.

Node 4 works with vendors such as Cisco, NetApp and VMWare. The firm has offices in Reading, Newark and London, and owns and manages data centres in Derby, Leeds and Northampton.

Node 4 also revealed in its latest accounts that Bowmark Capital has become its principal investor, replacing Lloyds Development Capital. The firm says the change will “provide further funding for growth and acquisition”.

The firm employs 137 people.
