Babington Group swoops for Derby training firm

Babington Group, one of the UK’s leading providers of apprenticeships and skills, has bought fellow Derby-based Acorn Training Consultants for an undisclosed sum.

Babington, which has its head office in Derby, provides apprenticeships, traineeships and skills training to learners and employers from its 12 training centres across the UK and from their employer’s premises.

Babington specialises in providing training in the fields of accounting, finance, business administration and leadership and management, together with high growth subject areas such as digital media and marketing.

The acquisition was led by Adrian Fantham, CFO at Babington Group, owned by RJD Partners, the UK private equity investor and supported by the management team.
