Leicestershire acoustics firm sold to Danish rival

Fabric Systems, the Market Harborough- and London-based manufacturer and installer of acoustic wall and ceiling has been sold by parent company Thorpe Interior Group and Rob Berryman to Danish producer of high performance acoustic solutions, Kvadrat Soft Cells.

In the UK, Fabric Systems will be sold via Kvadrat. The Fabric Systems team will remain the same with Rob Berryman staying on board for the longer term and becoming managing director UK of Kvadrat Soft Cells.

Berryman said: “We are very excited about the new set up. The merger of our companies is the logical progression in our relationship and offers our clients a more comprehensive textile acoustics portfolio. It also creates the opportunity to roll out the Fabric Systems solutions globally with a very professional team. We look forward to continue pushing the boundaries of textile acoustics and delivering first class projects for our clients”.

Spearing Waite corporate partner, Steve McElhone, who led the deal acting for the sellers said: “We were delighted to be able to bring the transaction to a successful conclusion, meeting a challenging timetable and liaising with legal partners in Denmark on the international aspects of the transaction. The merger gives the enlarged business some very exciting opportunities to expand both brands worldwide and we look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength.”
