Nottingham gaming lounge sold out of administration

A Nottingham gaming lounge has been sold out of administration to an unnamed buyer.

Gamer Social, which owned and ran ALT Gaming Lounge in George Street, Hockley in Nottingham’s Creative Quarter, called in Kevin Lucas as administrator on 24 February.

ALT Gaming Lounge, situated in Nottingham’s creative quarter of Hockley, provides computer gamers with a social setting to play games along with food and drink offering. It was set up by Kon MacFarlane-Hunt and Marie MacFarlane-Hunt in 2015.

The company ran into cashflow problems that led it to promote its offering to a wider community and struggling to meet creditor payments. The directors approached Lucas Johnson Limited and after a short period of marketing one clear potential purchaser came forward to take the business on and avoid its permanent closure.

The sale of the business and certain assets has meant that no jobs have been lost and ALT Gaming Lounge will continue to trade from its current premises.

Lucas said: “I am pleased that we have been able to preserve this relatively new concept for the employees and customers, and I hope the purchaser will be in a position to expand this business beyond Nottingham in the future”

The administrator was assisted by Berg Solicitors and JPS Chartered Surveyors.
